Elderly Care in Gainesville GA

There is nothing like trying a new treat for your parent to make any day in their elderly care journey more special. When the temperatures start to soar and the humidity creeps up, fresh recipes that take advantage of the abundant fruits of the summer months are perfect for cooling your parent off and refreshing them. These treats are also a great way for your parent to enjoy the fun and mental stimulation of getting into the kitchen with their elderly health care services provider.

  • Remove from the heat
  • Use the potato masher to smash the strawberries well
  • Place the strainer over the medium bowl
  • Pour the mixture through the strainer
  • Use the wooden spoon to continue to stir the fruit, forcing the liquid through the strainer
  • Set the pulp aside
  • Skim the foam off the sauce
  • Pour the now skimmed sauce back into the saucepan
  • Place on high heat
  • Boil the sauce on medium high heat for about 3 minutes
  • Skim any remaining foam
  • Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly
  • Pour into a jar or pitcher and add the pulp back in if so desired

To create a sweet and tart strawberry lemonade, add your fresh lemonade and a handful of ice into your blender or frozen beverage maker and blend until it creates a frosty smoothie texture. Add in some of your strawberry sauce and blend just until the strawberry sauce creates a swirl through the lemonade. Serve in a glass with a rim of coarse sugar for an extra special treat.
