An Awesome, Tasty Oatmeal Breakfast as a Part of Wonderful Elder Care near Johns Creek, GA
Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day and that doesn’t change whether you are a child or somebody who requires elder care at this point in time. For somebody who relies on elderly home care, they might require assistance preparing meals and that may include breakfast.
During the winter, a nice hot meal at breakfast time is a great way to start the day. Below is an incredible tasting butterscotch oatmeal recipe that is easy to prepare and relatively quick to make. The prep time is less than five minutes and the cook time is just 10 minutes. So, in total, this tasty oatmeal breakfast will take just about 15 minutes and it can be a part of some wonderful elderly home care.
Ingredients you will need.
In order to make this butterscotch oatmeal, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 ¾ cups milk
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
That’s it. These are pretty simple ingredients that most people already have lying around somewhere in the kitchen.
How to prepare and make this delicious butterscotch oatmeal.
You’re not going to get a much easier breakfast recipe unless you take out a box of cereal, pour it in a bowl, and add some milk.
For this butterscotch oatmeal, you’ll want to whisk together the egg, milk and brown sugar in a sauce pan over medium heat. When you reach the desired consistency, add in the oatmeal and slowly bring the mixture to a boil.
Continue cooking the oatmeal mixture until it is to the thickness and consistency that you or the elderly individual prefer to eat their oatmeal.
Remove from heat and then stir in the butter until it is fully melted. When ready, you will want to serve this breakfast meal right away.
It is important to make sure that the elderly individual understands this is hot and you don’t want them to become burned as a result. You may want to wait a minute to allow the oatmeal to cool slightly before serving, but you don’t want to wait too long for them to enjoy it.
This can be a great elder care activity to do with the patient rather than for them. That is because it is simple, easy to follow, and easy to make. It’s a delicious way to start to day!
